Kent Bestle on the iPhone • Kent’s professional career has been in materials management in manufacturing environment for the last 32 years. He made the switch to Apple products four years ago and has never looked back. He is a practicing technologist in all areas of technology, not just Apple products.

Here’s a short write-up Kent did on his presentation.

Lenny Neimark on iCloud • Lenny, aka The Mac Man, has been providing Expert Macintosh consulting services and repair for Small Business and Home Solutions since the 128 K MacPlus.  His website is:  www.macintoshsolutions.com

As most of you know, Apple has announced the end of their MobileMe program. Effective June 30, 2012, if you have not transferred your .me or .mac email address to Apple’s new iCloud services, you will permanently lose those email addresses.

Some of you have already made the transition. Others are confused or concerned about the complexity and repercussions of all this, which can be considerable, dependent mostly upon the age, current operating system and numbers of additional devices (computers, iPhones, iPads, etc.) you may own and wish to keep in sync with your email, contacts, calendars and other data.

Lenny explained, with good humor, some of the pitfalls and considerations one needs to take into account as you make this transition.

Here are some information links Lenny provided related to his presentation:

Gizmodo – Unraveling the MobileMess

Apple Support – Frequently Asked Questions about the MobileMe Transition and iCloud

Apple Site – Mobile Me contains some of the same information as above, but perhaps with a bit more detail.
